Tier I
Single Event Volunteer:
Volunteers are allowed to stay on campus to ensure student safety during special events.
Requirement:
- California Megan’s Law Website Compliance
- Submit to Principal for approval
Examples of what qualifies:
- Walk-A-Thon
- Lunar New Year Celebration
- Whole- School Event
- Field Day
Tier II
Recurring Volunteer Opportunities:
For volunteers who wish to be on campus for more than one instance or wish to volunteer as chaperones. This category does not allow volunteers to have one-on-one tutoring sessions with students.
Requirement:
- California Megan’s Law Website Compliance
- TB Clearance
- Submit to Principal for approval
Examples of what qualifies:
- Room Parent
- Classroom Volunteer
- Campus Volunteer
- Office Volunteer – (WILL NOT HAVE ACCESS TO STUDENT, FAMILY, OR EMPLOYEE RECORDS)
- Field Trip/ Event Chaperone
Tier III
Extended Volunteer Opportunity:
For volunteers who wish to participate in more comprehensive roles at the school site.
Requirement:
- California Megan’s Law Website Clearance
- TB Clearance
- Department of Justice Clearance (Finger Printing/LiveScan)
Examples of what qualifies:
- One-on-One Tutor
- Cafeteria Volunteer
- Overnight Field Trip Chaperone
- Student Activities- Under supervision for student sports, band, clubs, etc.
