Assistant Principal - TK-5
I was born in England and taught there for three years before moving to America. Over the last thirteen years, I have taught in schools in the cities of Chicago, Houston and New York. During my first post, I was appointed to the Leadership Team and had responsibility for the Kindergarten/First Grade classes, and later, the Early Childhood Department. In 2006, I joined a Council of International Schools accreditation team. Following this accreditation experience, I worked on the steering committee for my own school during our Council of International Schools accreditation. In 2011, I was selected to be one of the founding teachers at a start-up school in New York. Two years later, I was appointed as one of the Assistant Principals and this role allowed me to learn about the running of a school. It also gave me the experience to appoint staff, lead workshops for parents, plan and lead professional development, coordinate whole school events, and develop community outreach programs. My outside interests include playing sport, especially tennis – I hold a USPTR tennis coach qualification.
