TK Lead Teacher
I am an energetic educator with a drive to create conscious global citizens equipped to become lifelong learners. I intently believe children learn through multidisciplinary discovery, intentional play coupled with quality assessment and feedback. I also acknowledge and respect the parent community’s commitment to creating a nurturing environment for their children. Originally from Delaware, I graduated from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and International Business. Shortly afterward, I began to tutor as a volunteer and discovered my passion for teaching. My first experience as a teacher was for a non-profit organization, where I taught 4-to 6-year-old students using a constructivist approach and the philosophical beliefs derived from Piaget, Bruner, and Dewey. I helped empower children to take control of their own learning by engaging student’s natural curiosity through designing learning environments to facilitate exploration, early literacy, mathematics, science, social development, and fine motor skills.
In 2015 I moved to Los Angeles to pursue a Teaching career, as a result, I earned my California Teaching Credential from Antioch University of Los Angeles. During my studies, I worked as a Teacher’s Assistant for both fourth grade and fifth grade students. Consistent classroom routines are important to me because it provides a sense of safety for all students – student needs are my ultimate priority as an educator. When I’m is not in the classroom I enjoy dancing, hiking, knitting, and socializing with friends and family.
