Alberto Gonzalez

5th Grade Lead Teacher

My name is Alberto Gonzalez but I am known as Mr. G. This will be my third academic year teaching at CWC-Mar Vista; however, I have been in the educational field since 2002. I have a Master’s Degree in Education and School Leadership as well as a Tier I Administrative credential. I have been fortunate to work for many different charter school organizations such as KIPP: LA, ICEF, PUC: Schools, and even the United States Department of Labor, but it is here at Citizens of the World Mar Vista where I found a home.

Some of the greatest accomplishments in my life are overcoming major obstacles to attend Graduate School and earning my Master’s degree, graduating top of my class in the United States Army Sapper School, seeing my first students enter a four-year university but the greatest one so far is raising a family. I have two kids, my son is 8 years old and my daughter is 11 years old. I have discovered being a father is not easy, there is no manual, no handbook, therefore, I can easily understand your struggles as a parent and I can also share your happiness.

Some of my aspirations are to earn an Educational Doctorate degree and to see my children attend a four-year university. I hope to one day lead a school that has the values that CWC is founded upon. More importantly, Last, I hope all parents at CWC can see me as who I am, a public servant for you and your families.

My hobbies are camping and home improvement projects. I have a background in construction and in welding, and whenever I have the time you will find me fixing something at home.
