Special Projects Coordinator
I’m originally from upstate New York (think of the corner of Canada and Vermont) and graduated from Clarkson University with a BS in Chemical Engineering. After graduating, California was calling and I moved to the Bay Area, where I worked in various tech jobs including Adobe Systems as everything from technical marketing, to network operations, to systems administration. I migrated to LA in 2006 after meeting my husband, Charlie.
While I have always been a tech nerd, I’m also a nonprofit nerd. I am the Co-President of the Board of Directors of EDGE Youth Leadership, a conference and mentoring program for high school sophomores that helps them discover their purpose and empowers them to change their communities and the world through volunteering. When I moved to LA, I wanted to understand nonprofit operations better and went to work for Teach For America. I learned a lot of amazing things, but wanted to know even more, and so pursued an MBA in Nonprofit Management from American Jewish University.
I joined CWC Mar Vista in 2012 as a founding parent and have been helping ever since. I had been volunteering to help manage the website, communications, video conferencing, and fundraising. Through all the volunteering, I gained a deeper understanding of school operations and became a Data Consultant at EdTec, a back-office provider for charter schools. I was still volunteering a lot for CWCMV but when the opportunity to join the staff arose in the fall of 2017, I jumped on it!
I love CWC Mar Vista and think it is the perfect place for my two girls, Willow and Chloe, and for me!
