My name is Angela Gonzalez and I’m excited to be continuing my role in the start of my second year as the School Counselor K-7th grade levels. I graduated with my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Minor in Sociology from Colorado State University-Pueblo, Colorado (CSU-Pueblo), working several jobs to supplement my educational pursuits, with one being at a Federally Funded program at CSU-Pueblo entitled Student Support Services TRiO Program with first generation college students, student’s with disabilities, veterans, military personnel, elderly, and single parent Mother’s and Fathers in all aspects of counseling and completion of an undergraduate degree. I also was employed as a Student Assistant at the Belmont Residence Hall servicing and collaborating with our college community and staff personnel in ehancing the social and emotional development of our student’s and school community.
I attained my Master’s Degree in School Counseling from Loyola Marymount University-Los Angeles, CA, where I also had the opportunity to work with local high school student’s in aspects of college counseling and mentoring under the direction of several Professors and research on the success of mentoring programs amongst adolescents.
After taking my first Psychology Class as a Junior in High School, with an amazing and compassionate teacher, she recommended that I become a School Counselor/College Counselor/Guidance Counselor, and I made my decision to pursue Psychology and the field of counseling.
In my spare time, I enjoy working out, going to the beach, hiking, listening to my favorite types of music, dancing, playing basketball and volleyball, writing, coffeeshops, amusement parks, and spending time with family and close friends.
All in all, I have always known that my life and career would always be fulfilled as a servant leader and educator.
