Who We Are

Welcome to CWC Mar Vista!

We are a free, public charter elementary school with a purposefully diverse student body. Our campuses are located in West Los Angeles and we serve students across LA. We opened our doors in 2013, and are currently serving grades TK-8. We provide a holistic education, filled with joy, project-based learning, rigorous academics, the arts, sports and more. Our program is particularly strong in developing students’ social emotional development across lines of difference, preparing our students to emerge as a new generation of leaders – as trailblazers who are ready to tackle the future challenges in our world.

Citizens of the World Los Angeles

CWC Mar Vista is part of a network of charter schools across Los Angeles operated by Citizens of the World Los Angeles (CWC LA), a nonprofit organization governed by a local Board of Directors. The mission of CWC LA is to create an intimate network of high-achieving, community-based public schools for a diverse community of students, developing their abilities, confidence, and sense of responsibility for themselves and their community as true citizens of the world. All CWC LA schools benefit from being part of this network of aligned educators.

Facilities Updates:

CWC Mar Vista’s Gateway campus is getting an upgrade! The design of the new facility for upper elementary grades will bring joy, playfulness, creativity and collaboration to students’ learning environment. By having its own lunch, snack, art and play areas, the upper elementary campus creates a space that CWC MV students can call their own.
