Sharon Cox - Lead Teacher - 1st Grade
Sharon was born in England and taught there for three years before moving to America. Over the last thirteen years, she has taught in schools in the cities of Chicago, Houston and New York. During her first post, she was appointed to the Leadership Team and had responsibility for the Kindergarten/First Grade classes, and later, the Early Childhood Department. In 2006, Sharon joined a Council of International Schools accreditation team. Following this accreditation experience, she worked on the steering committee for my own school during our Council of International Schools accreditation. In 2011, Sharon was selected to be one of the founding teachers at a start-up school in New York. Two years later, she was appointed as one of the Assistant Principals and this role allowed her to learn about the running of a school. It also gave her experience appointing staff, leading workshops for parents, planning and leading professional development, coordinating whole school events and developing community outreach programs. Sharon’s outside interests include playing sport, especially tennis, as she holds a USPTR tennis coaching qualification. She looks forward to teaching in First Grade this year.
