Teaching Associate - Megan Bloom

Megan is a Southern California native who has worked in formal and informal education for ten years in Los Angeles and New York City. Most recently Megan was a founding member and special education administrator of a charter school in Queens, New York. During her time there she established programs and mentorships designed to help children reach their full potential. These programs were targeted at building each child’s social and emotional competencies, and empowering children to be active participants in their own learning and in that of their peers.

Megan earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin – Madison with a bachelor’s degree in Communications and dual graduate degrees from New York University in Childhood Education and Special Education. During her time at New York University she studied international childhood and special education, and taught in elementary schools in Rio de Janeiro and Porto Alegre, Brazil. Megan is looking forward to joining the CWC community as the Director of Special Education and sharing her passion for inclusive education.
