Laurie Wheeler - Teaching Associate

Laurie Wheeler was born in Boston, her family moved to Jakarta,
Indonesia for a few of her elementary school years, before settling in
Bethesda, Maryland when she was in the third grade. Laurie studied
Psychology at USC, and went on to earn her Masters in Creative Writing
there as well. After graduating, Laurie worked in social media and
marketing, while also writing poetry and fiction, and volunteering for 826
Los Angeles, a nonprofit tutoring and writing center for elementary-aged
students. It was here that Laurie realized how much she loved to teach,
and that she wanted to pursue a career in education. This fall, Laurie will
attend Antioch’s Teacher Credential and Masters Program. In her free
time, Laurie loves to write, play blues guitar, run with her dog Lewis, take on a novice woodworking project here and there, and listen to podcasts! She’s very excited to be joining the great team at CWC as a Teaching Associate this fall!
