Kaitlyn Williamson - Lead Teacher - Kindergarten

Kaitlyn grew up in the high deserts of California before leaving the desert to study in the rolling hills of Malibu at Pepperdine University where she earned her BA in Intercultural Communications with an emphasis in Religion.  After Pepperdine opened many doors to travel, Kaitlyn decided to spend a year serving in Guatemala for a non-profit called More Than Compassion (now called Story International) after graduation.  There she spent 10 months teaching English, Math, and Art as part of the founding staff of a bilingual school started to serve orphaned and neglected children from a local orphanage.  “I went with the intention to invest and serve in a community and culture different from my own, and in the process I fell in love with teaching.”

Upon returning to the States, Kaitlyn decided to pursue teaching as a career and began working as a Teaching Associate at CWC Mar Vista in a 3rd grade classroom. She has since obtained her teaching credential and Masters in Teaching from Pepperdine University’s Graduate School of Education and Psychology and has taught in a variety of environmental settings.  When she is outside of the classroom, she enjoys hiking, adventuring with her husband, and mentoring 6-12th graders alongside her husband.  Kaitlyn is looking forward to continuing her educational career back at CWC!
