Celina Lopez - Lead Teacher - 1st Grade

Celina is from Orange County, CA. She graduated from Mount Saint Mary’s University in Los Angeles with a B.A. in English and Spanish Literature. Her first teaching assignment was teaching English to high school foreign exchange students from Spain. Celina then obtained a position at a National Blue Ribbon bilingual public school in Los Angeles​, where she taught kindergarten for five years. While at Cahuenga, Celina was selected by the​ principal to be lead grade level chairperson and to consult as a bilingual coordinator for the school.  Celina has also taught first grade in Brooklyn, NY at a high performing school. 

While living in New York, she volunteered at a homeless shelter in Harlem, where she assisted children with their homework and reading skills. Celina now looks forward to teaching first grade here in California and she is excited to be part of the Citizens of the World community.
