Ariel Gordon - Resource Specialist Program Teacher
Ariel graduated from Pitzer College with majors in Psychology and Sociology. She recognized her passion for teaching, while working as an aquatic instructor for children with disabilities. She commenced her Special Education training at CSULB and interned at CHIME Charter School, observing and assisting in an inclusion classroom. She completed her credentials in Special Education and Autism at CSUN.Ariel has taught a Special Education Day Class for grades 2 – 4 in the Los Angeles Unified School District and for grades 3-6 at a charter school in Hollywood. She also designed and co-taught a multiage program that seamlessly blended special and general education students. Throughout, she has focused on developing lessons that promote critical thinking skills and embrace diverse strategies of learning while differentiating based on the individual needs of the student.Ariel is excited to join the committed faculty at Citizens of the World Charter School. As the Student Support Coordinator she will work closely with students, families and teachers to assess and to identify the needs of each child. She will also connect the resources of the school and community to promote optimal learning, socialization and growth.
